Kiss Me Kate

Monday 4 – Saturday 9 April 2005, Civic Theatre Chelmsford

With music and lyrics by Cole Porter this classic show within a show is sure to have you tapping your feet and laughing along. The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show’s director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. With Fred chasing Lois, who’s boyfriend Bill is signing off gambling debts in Fred’s name, and gangsters waiting in the wings you know the line between theatre and real-life will begin to blur with hilarious results. With fantastic songs such as “It’s Too Darn Hot”, “Another Opening, Another Show”, “So In Love” and many more you won’t want to miss out.
