My Fair Lady
12 – 17 May 1969
Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion this Lerner & Lowe musical follows the story of Eliza Doolittle – a Cockney flower girl – who takes speech lessons from Prof. Henry Higgins so she can pass as a lady. Along for the ride is Eliza’s wastrel father, Colonel Pickering and Freddy Eynsford-Hill who has fallen in love with her. With songs such as “Wouldn’t It Be Loverly?”, “I Could Have Danced All Night”, “I’m Getting Married In The Morning” and “On The Street Where You Live” this classic musical still captures hearts today.
