Bizet’s opera takes place in Seville in 1820 and follows Don Jose who is lured away for his duties as a solder and his beloved Micaela by a gypsy girl named Carmen. As Don Jose follows her into disrepute he becomes wild with jealousy as Carmen falls for another man.
